Randy Alcorn, Ph.D.

Dr. Alcorn is the founder and director of Eternal Perspective Ministries (EPM). Prior to starting EPM, he served as a pastor for fourteen years and has spoken around the world and has taught on the adjunct faculties of Multnomah Bible College and Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon. He is a best-selling author of 27 books.

Dr. Paul Brand
(1914 - 2003)

Dr. Brand was a medical missionary, leprologist, author and consultant.  Dr. Brand was a orthopedic surgeon who spent his first 30 professional years at Karigir, Madres, South India where he developed procedures for treating the claw-hand deformity of leprosy.  These procedures are now widely used by plastic, orthopedic and hand surgeons all over the world.  After leaving the mission field, Dr. Brand was director of the Hansen's Disease Center of the United States Public Health Service in Carville, LA for 12 years.  Dr. brand has received many awards, notably the Albert Lasker award for progress in surgery and the Order of the British Empire from Queen Elizabeth.  He has authored surgical texts and popular books presenting a physician's Scriptural view of disease and health, such as Fearfully and Wonderfully Made, In His Image and Pain, the Friend Nobody Wants.

Dr. Ted W. Engstrom (1916-2006)

Dr. Engstrom is President, Emeritus, of World Vision, a major relief and development agency.  Under his long direction, World Vision became a major player in disaster relief around the world.  He is a popular author and management consultant and has written many books on management, efficient use of time and board responsibilities, such as Managing Your Time and Boardroom Confidence.

Drs. Thomas Hale, Jr. and Cynthia Hale

Drs. Tom and Cynthia Hale have been working in Nepal under the United Mission to Nepal since 1970.  Cynthia is a pediatrician and public health educator and concert pianist while Tom is a surgeon and author.   For their first twelve years in Nepal, the Doctors Hale were assigned to a remote rural mission hospital where Tom served as both surgeon and medical director, and Cynthia served as pediatrician and family physician.  Cynthia is an Associate Professor in the Department of Community Medicine and Family Health at the Institute of Medicine of Tribhuvan University, Katmandu, Nepal.  Tom is an author of four popular books: Don't Let the Goats Eat the Loquat Trees, On the Far side of LigLig Mountain, Living Stones of the Himalayas, and On Being a Missionary.  Tom has also written a New Testament translated into a number of languages, including English, Spanish, French, Marathi, Sinhalese, Filipino, and Yoruba.

Dr. C. Everett Koop, MD, Sc.D.

C. Everett Koop, MD, Sc.D., is a pediatric surgeon and former Surgeon General of the United States of America.

Charles R. Kelley, MD, Chairman

Dr. Kelley is Associate Professor Emeritus of Medicine, Indiana University, School of Medicine.

Robert W. Reich, PA-C, MSPAS, Secretary

Mr. Reich is a Physician Assistant working among the poor at Esperanza Health Center in Philadelphia, PA. He is involved in HIV crisis intervention work in the U.S. and in Ecuador.

Robin A. Nichols, CPA, Treasurer

Mrs. Nichols is the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance for Major Hospital in Shelbyville, Indiana.

Kenneth P. Chrisman

Mr. Chrisman, an active Christian layman, is a Vice President at Sealed Air Corporation where he specializes in leadership development and business optimization.

Jeffery G. Cory, CFP

Mr. Cory is the Vice President of Advancement for Nyack College, a Christian college, seminary and graduate school in Nyack, NY.

Karen Borgman

Mrs. Borgman is a former school teacher, has been active in missions committees for many years and has served on short-term mission trips to Panama and the Ukraine.

D. John Brose, MD

Dr. Brose is a retired general surgeon and medical missionary to Rwanda and Burundi.

Rev. Douglas G. Christgau, M.Ed.

Rev. Douglas G. Christgau is the Pastor of World Outreach, Valley Community Baptist Church, Avon, CT.

Janet K. Crow, MD

Dr. Crow is a pediatrician with experience working primarily among the poor and underserved patients in the U.S. and along the U.S.-Mexico border. Dr. Crow mentors medical students and residents, many of whom are interested in long- or short-term mission work.

Leon Gombis, DDS

Dr. Gombis is retired from an active practice of dentistry in the Chicago area and is an active Christian layman who serves on the board of SIM International. He is a Regent of Liberty University.

Kenneth P. Gross, MD

Dr. Gross is a private practice anesthesiologist in Lincoln, NE. His specialty interests include cardiovascular/thoracic anesthesia with subspecialty board certification in transesophageal echocardiography. He is cofounder of E-Echocardiography.com, a transesophageal echocardiography educational website. He is on the Board of Advisors of Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, MA.

Calvin J. Johnson, MD

Dr. Johnson is an Orthopedic Surgeon who has served as a medical missionary in Zaire/Cong Kenya, Niger, Zambia and Albania.

Patricia Kissell, R.N., Ph.D.

Dr. Kissell is the Chairman of the Department of Nursing at Northwest Nazarene University in Idaho. She has authored a number of publications and has served on the National Board of Overseas Missions of the Evangelical Free Church of America.

Daryl R. Erickson, MD, President/CEO

Dr. Erickson is a retired attending surgeon from the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua. He has served on medical missions trips to Zaire and Ethiopia and as chief administrator at a hospital in the United Arab Emirates.

David S. Topazian, DDS, MSc, MBA, President Emeritus

Dr. Topazian is a retired Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon and founder of Project MedSend. He served with TEAM in Venezuela from 1988 – 1994 and was seconded by TEAM to Project MedSend. He is co-founder of Project MedSend, Inc.

Daniel E. Fountain, MD, Executive Vice President

Dr. Fountain is a general surgeon who has served as a medical missionary in Vanga, Zaire/Congo since 1961. He is recognized as an expert in Health Development and has authored books on the subject from a Christian perspective. Dr. Fountain has been a fellow at the Billy Graham Center in Wheaton, IL, and is co-founder of Project MedSend.

Randy Carey, MBA, MA in Theology, Midwest Regional Director

Randy Carey is Project MedSend's Midwest Regional Director. He is a retired military officer who resides in Wheaton, IL. Randy seeks individuals, churches, student groups, and medical students who are interested in learning more about medical missions, financial management issues, or budgeting. Bob Rao, MD, Midsouth Regional Director

Dr. Bob Rao is an anesthesiologist who has practiced in the Dallas area for more than 10 years, and has participated in a number of short term medical missions projects. Dr. Rao has become increasingly involved with Project MedSend since its inception. He welcomes opportunities to share the ministry of Project MedSend with health professionals, churches, student groups and others interested in medical missions.
